Dedicated exhibition space, plus special ticket pricing is now available to the FinTech community

In a bold move to fully embrace the FinTech community, Sibos has created a dedicated space and special ticket pricing for startup and growth stage FinTechs to participate in Sibos 2018, coming to Sydney this October.

Launched in 1978 as a banking operations seminar, Sibos has grown into an international business forum for the global financial industry that brings together financial leaders from around the world to network, collaborate and discuss issues of global importance. “As the premiere event in financial services, Sibos has increasingly become the number one global meeting place for market participants,” says Chantal van Es, Head of Sibos. “As new technologies take shape, it is very important that we extend the Sibos reach to the FinTech community, exposing the full potential of collaboration and contribution to the conversations.”

To support the growing FinTech community, Sibos added the Discover Zone to its list of exhibitor opportunities for 2018. First debuted during Sibos 2017 in Toronto, the Discover Zone is a newly designed space that unites all innovation stakeholders across Sibos in one distinct area. “The idea behind the Discover Zone is twofold”, adds van Es. “We want to provide Sibos delegates with the full industry experience, which in today’s environment includes working collaboratively with FinTech providers. We also want to give the FinTech community a unique opportunity to showcase their solutions and network with decision makers from the wider financial community”.

According to Sibos, the Discover Zone will include around 40 exhibitors ranging from bank innovation labs and university pods to growth stage FinTechs from around the globe. Additionally, more than 30 local start-ups will join the Discover experience in the Oceania lounge, increasing the total number new residents in this space to 70. It will also include the Discover stage, featuring a variety of presentations from Discover Zone participants.  And, at the heart of the Discover Zone will sit SWIFT Innotribe, notably a feature of Sibos with its forward looking and interactive sessions. “It’s all about collaboration,” adds Kevin Johnson, Head of SWIFT Innotribe. “The first wave of FinTech was all about disruption, but that’s now yesterday’s buzzword. The focus has switched to unlocking the potential of collaborative innovation, which make the Discover Zone at Sibos the ideal place for financial institutions and FinTechs to meet their next business partner”.

Finding the right business partner

With more than 7,000 delegates expected in Sydney, Sibos offers a variety of networking opportunities alongside industry sessions on trending topics. “Over 90% of Sibos delegates visit the exhibition ensuring that exhibiting at Sibos delivers unparalleled opportunities for networking and business development,” adds van Es. “With this many key industry players in one venue, our exhibitors can connect to more new opportunities in one week at Sibos than many businesses will over a year.”

Commenting on Sibos, Co-Founder and CEO of SettleMint, Matthew Van Niekerk, adds, “What I find most exciting about Sibos is that you are right in the middle of the decision makers at these institutions. During the week, I had a number of banks come to our booth and ask if we can start next week. It’s a different level of conversation that you have at Sibos versus other events. For any growth-stage FinTech, Sibos is definitely the right platform to showcase new products and services to key institutional players.”

In addition to the exhibition space in the Discover Zone, Sibos is also offering qualified FinTechs with a specially priced ticket to attend Sibos for the week. The ticket includes full access to all conference sessions and the exhibition space, which is spread across two levels, including the Discover Zone. “With a FinTech pass, delegates will have an opportunity to listen to  leading industry experts discuss and debate a variety of topics impacting today’s global financial markets,” concludes van Es. “In between sessions, delegates will have ample time to network with the 170 plus exhibitors from financial institutions, corporations and technology partners. It’s a great value for the price”

With the backdrop of Sydney and all that Sibos has to offer, FinTechs may want to consider making Sibos 2018 a destination this coming October. Check out the event information here
